The 3rd Ibero-American Audiovisual Exhibition was inaugurated in Holguin as part of the 16th edition of the Ibero-American Culture Fiesta taking place in this eastern Cuban city.

Holguin residents will have the opportunity of enjoying films from Spain, Mexico, Portugal, and Norway and from several Caribbean countries.

Materials from the San Antonio de los Baños International Cinema and Television School and a selection of movies from the Festival of the New Latin American Cinema and the Low Budget Film Festival by filmmaker Humberto Solás will also be screened on this occasion.

Mailan Heredia, a specialist with the provincial cinema office in the province, told ACN that the event is attended by special guests, like cultural attaches from several of the participating nations.
The Film Association, the Marti Movie Theater, the “Tres Lucias” Café Project and the screens located at the Calixto Garcia and San Jose parks were the places selected for the showings, he explained.

The promoter of the provincial film center, Liset Miranda, expressed that the exhibition is sponsored by her institution and will include presentations and talks by experts, like that of art critic Frank Padron.

Meanwhile, Jessica Flores, a specialist from the Caribbean Cinema Exhibition, said that participants will also be able to enjoy shorts, documentaries and fiction films from the previous two editions of this regional meeting, which will contribute to make this city a sub-venue for future editions of this event. / ACN
