Before learning that tornadoes can not be predicted. I knew about these events after watching documentaries, films or TV news. Their chaotic spirals were to me "something from another place".

Havana was struck by a rare and powerful tornado, with hurricane force and lethal. In the interviews, its people looked surprised, stunned by the magnitude of a phenomenon that came linked to a cold front.

The members of the rescue and search teams with babies in their arms, from the maternity hospital Daughters of Galicia, are worthy of admiration. The images became news, given the courage and tenderness presented. However, people did not look at all desperate, even those whose homes collapsed. There was total destruction, the figures (still inconclusive) confirm it.

The disaster panorama turned out to be a reality, because the infrastructure of many places collapsed.

What could be predicted, at 100 percent certainty, is that Cuban protection would once again be highlighted. Beginning with the president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, giving instructions between debris and fallen posts, scheduling recovery as quickly as possible.

In 60 years, Cubans have learned to help each other. Nature again unleashed its anger, this time unexpectedly. But thinking about that last would stop the collective effort, the accompaniment, the effort to return to Havana more beautiful, almost 500 years after the original settlement.

Theres’s a great distance between my neighborhood and the municipalities 10 de Octubre, Regla, Guanabacoa and San Miguel del Padrón; however, we feel the pain, the damages, as our own , because #SomosCuba, like the Twitter tag. From the eastern region of Cuba, resources, brigades will travel to the capital, because we are made of solidarity.
