Professor and playwright Carlos Leyva Bonaga won the Alberto Dávalos 2019 Award for a life dedicated to the stage, a tribute he received at the Eddy Suñol Theater in the province of Holguín, on March 27, World Theater Day.

 

The Office of Arts and the Jazz Band of Harvard University, United States, today named Cuban pianist Chucho Valdés as resident Jazz Master, due to his contribution to the development of said institution.

 

Ediciones Holguin, temple of the letters of this "province of the Universe", as it was described by its director, the writer Lourdes Gonzalez, hosts the Professional Program of the Book Fair, a space that stands as the backbone of this event.

 

The Book Fair that takes place from March 20 to 24 in Holguin has several proposals with the presence here of the five publishing houses in the territory: Ediciones Holguin; Ediciones La Luz, of the Hermanos Saíz Association; Cuadernos Papiro, specialized in the production of art books; La Mezquita, of the Union of Historians of Cuba and Ediciones Conciencia, of the University of Holguin.
