Renowned Cuban Singer to Open Romerias de Mayo in Holguin

The 26th edition of Romerias de Mayo festival will open with the concert of singer-songwriter Liuba Maria Hevia onMay 2 at Bosque de los Heroes of the Holguin Revolution Square, after the traditional parade along Avenida de los Libertadores , in homage to the heroes.
This year’s event will premiere the event Jazz in Romerias with the concert of the Holguin Symphony Orchestra on May 3 at the Eddy Suñol Theater of this eastern Cuban city.
Among the most awaited pilgrims is Cimafunk, which includes David Blanco, Kamankola and the groups Karamba and Vocal Renacer.

In the 25 anniversary of the creation of the Romerias, the event includes theater and street dance with the performances of the Guiñol de Holguin, Cienfuegos and Camagüey; Miron Cubano, Moron Teatro, Codanza, Danza Fragmentada, ISA Dance and Sangre Gitana.
The 26th edition of the Romerias de Mayo is dedicated to the Cuban culture, the Revolution and to the founding institutions such as the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry, the National Theater of Cuba, the National Library Jose Marti, the House of the Americas and the National Printing of Cuba.
