The leader of the Revolution, Raúl Castro, emphasized that the fight against drugs must be relentless due to the serious social, family, and health damage caused by their consumption and illegal trafficking.
In response, the province of Holguín has launched a prevention and enforcement campaign against drugs that will extend until June 21, with the aim to neutralize all trafficking activity and raising awareness among individuals and families about the dangers of using these lethal substances.
This initiative involves various government and social entities, aiming to strengthen the culture of rejection of drugs and educate children, youth, and families about the dangers of these substances, such as Education, Higher Education, Culture, the Labor Authority, Public Health, Tourism, the Prosecutor's Office, Courts, Commerce, Sports, and the Ministry of the Interior, among others.
The actions carried out include educational talks, community debates and the training for teachers and principals to provide them with methodological tools that guarantee the efficient implementation of educational actions to promote prevention. Cultural activities are also carried out to promote prevention.
At the provincial meeting, chaired by Yunia Pérez Hernández, Vice Governor of Holguín, it was known that during the week, the actions focus especially on municipalities and areas considered high-risk, such as Moa, Banes, Gibara, and the provincial capital.
Other efforts are geared toward strengthening surveillance and monitoring system, and holding exemplary trials for those involved in drugs trafficking, seeking to protect the population and eradicate this problem.
