The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Cuba today launched the call for proposals for the NAE project, aimed at new economic actors linked to the cultural and creative industries.

The initiative, as the institution stated on its Facebook page, is funded by the European Union and implemented by the UNDP, the French Cooperation in Cuba, the Ministry of Economy and Planning, and the National Institute of Economic Research. The call for proposals will be open until November 15.

The project seeks to strengthen the cultural value chain, from creation and production to the distribution of goods and services, by providing financial support for equipment to selected ventures.

The call for proposals is open to state-owned and private micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), non-agricultural cooperatives, and local development projects, which can submit proposals in sectors such as architecture, performing arts, visual arts, crafts, audiovisual production, design, literature, music, cultural heritage, video games, and digital media for artistic creation.

This initiative promotes the growth of creative businesses and strengthens international cooperation in support of the innovative and sustainable diversification of the Cuban economy. (Source: ACN)
