Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz on Wednesday visited the community of Yaguabo in Cacocum, Holguín to assess the damage caused by the flooding from Hurricane Melissa.
Marrero inquired about the community's well-being, listening to and addressing each concern raised by residents and assuring them that no one would be left to fend for themselves.

During the visit, Marrero listened to the residents, addressed their concerns, and assured them that no one will be abandoned; he was accompained by representatives of the Provincial Defense Council in Holguín, Joel Queipo Ruiz and Manuel Francisco Hernández Aguilera, and their counterparts in the municipality of Cacocum.

After touring the Yaguabo People's Council, he went to the town of Floro Pérez in Gibara, under continuous rain. At the only bakery, whose roof was damaged by Hurricane Melissa, he was informed about the alternative method to deliver bread from Gibara and the planned measures to repair the building’s roof.

Gibara was also on the itinerary, where the Ranchón, a landmark of the city, was damaged by the winds; there was a firm directive to restore the site and have it ready by December. By 4 p.m., Marrero continued his work visit in the territory he represents as a deputy in the National Assembly.
