Holguín Will Host International Weightlifting Tournament

The Organizing Committee of the main weightlifting contest that takes place in Cuba is giving final details for the tournament.
The event will be held in Holguin as recognition of the outstanding competitive results in the different categories of such discipline achieved in the territory in the last five years, according to Andrés Cruz, Provincial Weightlifting Commissioner.

Cuba will be represented by eight men and seven women from the National Preselection and equal figures in the sub-17 delegation. The Cuban delegation includes the outstanding Holguin champions Víctor Quiñones (94kilos) and Juan Columbié (105), who are classified for the Central American and Caribbean Games of Barranquilla, in the coming summer.
On the other hand, the delegation to the sub17 includes Seneidis Laffita (56 kilograms), Alejandro Romero (69) and Yoel Rodríguez (77).
Previous to the event, the National Pre-selection of Weightlifting will make a training base starting next February 18, in the Pedro Díaz Coello Sports School of Holguín.
