Richard Bouquet Mulet, a pitcher from Holguín, is the 24th player from this province and the seventh pitcher to participate in a Youth Baseball World Championship, representing the Cuban team in the tournament held in Okinawa, Japan.
Holguín is the province with the most players in these championships. The first player from Holguín to participate was Héctor Granado Reyna in 1961, and several players have competed in two editions, with Mariano González standing out as the best player in 1986 and 1987.
