25 Holguin Athletes Attend Central American and Caribbean Games

Some 25 Holguin athletes will take part in the XXIII Central American and Caribbean Games to be held in Barranquilla from July 19 to August 3, as part of the Cuban delegation attending the event.
 
The Holguin delegation includes representatives in 17 disciplines from nine municipalities and is headed by the Olympic gold medalist London-2012 in Rapid Fire Shooting, Leuris Pupo and the Olympic and world medalist in decathlon Leonel Suarez.

The delegation is also composed of athlete Liza Maria Salomón, specialist in triple jump; Taimara Oropesa and Ángel Herrera (badminton); Noelvis Robles and Ángel Jesús Rivero (handball); Yordan Manduley (baseball), Alejandro Parra (cycling), Daylen Cristina Moreno and Humberto Aguilera (fencing), Danay Utria (rhythmic gymnastics), Roberto Almenares (60 kilograms, judo) and Yoandra Moreno (more than 68 kilos, karate do).

Weightlifters Victor Quiñones (94 kilos) and Juan Columbié (105), Yudenni Alpajón (125 kilos, wrestling), Alexei Carballosa (rowing), Mailín Sánchez, Geidis García, Daimela Fuentes (from Santiago de Cuba, who play with Holguín) and Luis Raúl Domínguez (softball), Taimara Robles (63 kilos, taekwondo), Dennier Infante (sailing) and Sergio González (beach volleyball) will also participate in the Central American games.
 
In addition, two officials, three technicians and one referee will travel to Barranquilla.
