Holguín: seven athletes short-listed for I Caribbean Games

Seven Holguín athletes will made up the Cuban delegation to the First Caribbean Games scheduled in Guadeloupe from June 29 to July 3, 2022, with athletes from 15 to 30 years of age.
The preselected athletes are the triple jumper Andy Eugenio Hechavarría; cyclists Evelín Díaz, Dayelín Pérez, Laura Alejandra Fuente and Douglas Parrao, indoor soccer player Carlos Lázaro Ruiz and judoka Marlon Herrera, of 73 kg.

The Cuban delegation will compete in seven of the eight sports convened: open water, swimming, athletics, three-for-three basketball, cycling, futsal, judo and netball.
The Cuban preselection is made up of 130 athletes, who in addition of seeking good positions, will compete to learn and train and give other young people more opportunities, as a prelude to the Central American and Caribbean Games 2023 and the Pan American Games, heading to the Olympics in Paris-2024.
