Despite several days without new positive cases for COVID-19, the health system in Holguín continues monitoring the active outbreaks in this territory, as part of the measures to contain the disease, with 97 autochthonous cases from March to date in the province.
Yanelis Calviño, head of the command post of the Provincial Directorate of Public Health, said to the Cuban News Agency that the study continues not only of contacts of positive patients, but also people with Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI) and homes close to the cases detected.
She noted that the event of the Shambalá bar in the head city, where three positive cases for Covid-19 were detected, remains under surveillance pending the results of the third PCR, according to the protocol established by the health authorities.
In the case of the municipalities of Antilla and Banes, the isolation of suspected cases and movement restrictions in these localities are maintained, related to the residence and workplace of the 49-year-old patient confirmed with the new coronavirus, who died of a complication, she added.
During the weekend 580 real-time PCR samples were analyzed with negative results, while more than 600 samples remain pending, Calviño explained.
Holguín has 97 confirmed cases, five deaths, about a thousand national travelers in epidemiological surveillance and more than 500 people in isolation centers, prepared for contacts and suspected cases of COVID-19, for their epidemiological and clinical surveillance.
