A grand concert by the Steel Band of El Cobre and the Holguín Symphony Orchestra, under the artistic direction of Maestro Orestes Saavedra, will close the 32nd Ibero-American Culture Festival today, with the participation of delegates from nine countries.
The 4th Meeting of Paper Artists will also conclude on Thursday, with an exhibition of works created in the creative workshops.
The Ibero-American Congress of Thought, with forums and conferences dedicated to the continent's ancestral customs, the presence of the Balearic community in Cuba, and the contributions of Casa de las Américas, was among the most significant events of the Festival.
It highlights the awarding of the 2026 Adelaida del Mármol National Poetry Prize to the poetry collection “El escarabajo rojo” (The Red Beetle), by writer Luis Manuel Pérez Boitel, from Villa Clara.
The jury, composed of Lourdes González Herrero, Eugenio Marrón Casanova, and Alfredo Zaldívar Muñoa, considered the text a reinterpretation of one of the most transcendent poetic legacies in world literature, characterized by its fullness and stylistic elegance.
The 32nd Ibero-American Culture Festival, inaugurated on October 24 and dedicated to arts education, encompasses the city's main squares and cultural institutions, serving as venues to promote Iberian history and traditions and foster the development of new talent. (Source: ACN)
