The health system in the province of Holguín has reinforced epidemiological surveillance in recent days, after the diagnosis of two new positive cases for COVID-19 in the main municipality, which demands a group of measures adopted to contain the disease.
The regulations include the closure of three gastronomic centers visited by the patient diagnosed with Covid-19 and the immediate isolation of all their workers in centers prepared for this purpose until the PCR studies are carried out.
Yanelis Calviño, head of the command post of the Provincial Directorate of Public Health, said to the local press that the restrictions on entry into social institutions and work centers, among others, are maintained, in addition to the mandatory use of the mask and the washing of hands with alcoholic solutions.
The specialist insisted on the need to increase the perception of risk and comply with the established biosecurity measures, to which are added the reduction to 50 percent of the capacities of public transport and recreational centers.
Regarding the case confirmed today, she added that it is a 21-year-old girl, resident in the Aguas Claras community, belonging to the Alcides Pino health area, of the provincial capital and contact of the patient confirmed last Saturday.
This case is linked to the one diagnosed on Saturday, a young man who resides in the Alex Urquiola health area of the provincial capital, on which there is a hypothesis that the disease could be acquired from contact with a humorous group from Havana on the 25th last August at the Shambalá Bar, located in the center of the eastern city.
Holguín also maintains the blocking of cases, epidemiological surveys, active research in risk areas and the isolation of contacts, aimed at detecting possible suspects of the new coronavirus, especially those who are asymptomatic.
