Holguín boosts electronic commerce as part of computerization of society

Electronic commerce is one of the projects consolidated in Holguín as part of the process of computerization of society that contemporaneity and new governance mechanisms demand in the country.
The province this year is working in the implementation of this sales method in two fundamental aspects, from citizen to entity and among institutions, mainly from the EnZona payment platform and Transfermóvil, said to the ACN Agustín Chiong Aguilera, director of the Territorial Office for Communications Control.
He explained that it is planned to develop and test the online ticket system this month using the EnZona platform for the Eddy Suñol Theater Cultural Complex; the Casa de Iberoamérica and centers of the Art Services Company, among other Holguín institutions.
Among the projects, they will expand the Eddy Suñol Theater project, which began in 2019 with the creation of its website and several digital posters for the free download of information related to its programming, developed by the Information Technology Company for the Defense (Xetid).
On the other hand, the EnZona project will allow booking online for restaurants in the city, while the Ciudad Nuestra project will test a digital learning system using Transfermóvil as a payment platform, which will influence the population's purchasing procedures, he pointed out.
Other services provided in the province have been widely accepted by the population, as they facilitate personal procedures and avoid queues, such as the collection of the electricity and telephone bill, the money orders processed by the Company Correos de Cuba and the purchase of tickets with the Viajando application, all of these through the Transfermóvil.
Chiong Aguilera added that the percentage of people who use the electronic modality is still low regarding the number of people who use these services, as there is little dissemination of the benefits offered by this practice, especially with the platform EnZona that offers additional discounts, in addition to free access.
The specialist explained that this is also due to the fact that in the case of payment of telephone bills, there are telecommunications agents that efficiently manage this service, in addition to the postmen of Correos de Cuba, who also offer the service of collection of electricity rates, since many times the collector reaches the families' own homes to complete these actions.
