Holguin’s tourism sector benefits from constructive actions

Photo: Carlos RafaelRegarding the Day of the Hotel and Tourism Worker, which is commemorated each year in Cuba in tribute to the birth of the martyr of that sector, Elpidio Sosa, investment projects are extended so far this year in Holguin, with the aim to improve the comfort of hotel facilities of this tourist destination.
Projects are mainly focused on the areas of Guardalavaca and Gibara, as well as the provincial capital on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the founding of Holguin as a town, to be celebrated on April 4.
Maikel Robelt, commercial specialist at Mintur, said to the ACN news agency that the main actions include the completion of the first construction stage of the Hotel Iberostar Selection Almirante located in the spa of Guardalavaca, which will have the category of five stars and more than 200 rooms in a first stage of construction.
In Gibara, promoted as a tourist destination during the International Tourism Fair held in Holguin in May 2017, the investment program includes the improvement of the accommodation system with the construction of hotel facilities such as the Murcielaguina , the Hotel Vallado, the Grand Residential Hotel and the expansion of the Admiral's Bay, belonging to the Cubanacan chain, among others.
In the city of Holguin, works are carried out in the Saratoga Hotel, a heritage building located around one of the Calixto Garcia central park of the city, which will open in a first stage with the availability of its first 12 rooms, the reception and the cafe bar.
For this year, it is planned the completion of works at the Pernik Hotel, in the eastern city, whose investments are concentrated in the extension of the night activities area with an interior terrace on the second floor of the facility, as well as the pool, which will have all the requirements of international standards and new added values. / ACN
