The Holguin Business Unit (UEB) of technical services, of the Center for Development of Agricultural Machinery (CEDEMA), will extend its services to 150 companies in the country, as part of the process of economic resizing implemented by the entity, the only one of its kind in Cuba.
Fernando Lebeque Simon, director of the UEB of technical services, highlighted the effectiveness and quality achieved by the three working groups in the diagnosis and industrial maintenance; economic feasibility and testing of machines and equipment for agriculture.
The Holguin Business Unit carried out a study of economic feasibility at the Turquino canning factory and Cacocum electric motor factory to increase their efficiency, as well as field tests of the CCA-5500 Cuban sugar cane harvester, hydraulic, smaller than the KTP, with heated cab and under development, Lebeque explained.
The group also provided inspection services to recreation teams in the five eastern provinces and Camaguey, as well as other minor tourism demands.
Lebeque added that the group, consisting of 15 specialists and workers, will continue to expand its horizon, in support of the efforts of CEDEMA and the economy of the country because “ as we are service providers out of the entity, we do not need so many import resources, the work is facilitated for us, which in the case of other efforts of our company is difficult because they do depend on deficit elements because of the US blockade against Cuba.
While CEDEMA is waiting for the new sugarcane machinery prototype, which is manufactured in the People's Republic of China, its technical business unit will provide diagnostics and advice services to 150 companies in the country.
