Holguin: Over 800 Teachers Incorporated in Classrooms

Holguin is one of the Cuban provinces where a greater number of teachers have returned to the classroom after the salary increase last July, one of the actions undertaken by the Cuban government to encourage the national economy and benefit employees of the budgeted sector.
The new measure has caused great impact in the educational sector, contributing a teaching coverage of more than 96 percent in the recently started school year, a figure that will increase with the implementation of alternatives such as contracts to retired teachers and student assistants.
The process for reinstatement was thorough and selective, in order to provide students with the best possible educational training. Instructing, instilling values and knowledge will be the premises of the new role of educators in our society. / ACN
