Holguin Ready for the Start of the 2019-2020 School Year

The province of Holguin prepared for the beginning of the 2019-2020 school year with actions such as the production of school materials, the renovation of educational facilities and the sale of school uniforms.
Some 1289 schools in the territory are ready for the arrival of the students to the classrooms.
In each school, the teaching staff perform sanitation and organization of school materials. At the same time, the enrollment process for new students is carried out, while teachers are updated in the methodological conferences about the curricula and the orientations of the teaching-learning process. Details are finalized in several centers undergoing maintenance and repair works.
According to Luis Felipe Batista Rodriguez, Provincial Director of Education, some 75 schools in the province have benefited from an investment program carried out during the summer period, with eight million Cuban pesos allocated. In addition, repair works are carried out in schools that that had been declared in critical condition by the Ministry of Public Health, for certification and incorporation into the system in the shortest possible time.
In this way, the teaching staff in the territory will implement in the next school year, with the prioritized technological support, the generalization of the educational improvement system in all the educational centers in order to raise the quality of teaching. / ACN
