With the shortly opening of the Iberostar Selection Almirante hotel in Guardalavaca, the Spanish group confirms its commitment to the Cuban east as a tourist destination where it has completed a circuit of Sun and Beach, Culture and History, after the opening of the Iberostar Selection Holguin last year, the Ordoño, Plaza Colon and Arsenita hotels in Gibara; and Casagranda, Imperial and San Felix in Santiago de Cuba.
In interview with the local media, Ana Riscalli, regional director of operations of Iberostar in Ciego de Avila, said:
“We are very happy with the eastern circuit, because we continue promoting the east as a destination. The client who visits Cuba does not necessarily have to travel to Havana or Varadero, but from here it has the possibility to know Cuba through its history, its culture, and take advantage of wonderful beaches. The most important thing is that we are opening quality hotels, with beautiful architecture, on spectacular beaches, with the services that distinguish us and the implementation of the brand with its changes”.

The Iberostar Selection Almirante will be the only five-star hotel in Guardalavaca Beach, complementing the four and three-star service provided by the Brisas and Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca hotels respectively.
According to Riscalli, it constitutes a five-star beach hotel in Iberostar, with a water park, 515 rooms, four specialized restaurants, a spa, and a viewpoint towards the privileged beach shore.
"Services were added to the original project according to Iberostar standards, new attractions such as the start camp, with better segmentation for different audiences, especially for children," she said.
“We want customers who are in our hotels to enjoy and be served with quality, kindness, honesty; that our employees fell happy and proud to work with Iberostar. That's why we have been working hard. ”
In November, the Iberostar Selection Holguin will celebrate its opening year, when it consolidates itself as one of the newest hotels in the Cuban East, with an average of 120 daily clients from the national market.
Iberostar, with 26 years of experience on the island, has extended throughout the country with more than 20 hotels. The challenge has always been to adapt to the culture of the regions where they expand.
Riscalli also praised the preparation and service culture of Cuban personnel.
The Brazil-born directive announced that Iberostar projects include hotels in Cayo Cruz, Trinidad, Cayo Coco and Havana, as well as renovations at the Casa Granda Hotel in Santiago de Cuba.
She assured that, despite the blockade, Iberostar's commitment to destiny Cuba is firm. In addition, they have an import company that allows them to circumvent the effects of the economic fence imposed by the United States. The most important thing, says Riscalli, is the mentality of the company and the manager.
“It is true that sometimes we lack supplies in some hotels. But we are looking for solutions for everything, the proof is that we continue to work, the directors and their work teams know that they have to move on, and we cannot deviate from what has always distinguished us: quality”.
