Holguín: Remarkable production of hydraulic accessories

Recognized nationally as one of the most outstanding of its kind, the Company of High Density Polyethylene Tubes Holplast, based in the city of Holguín was the site of provincial activities for the Hydraulic Worker's Day, which is celebrated throughout Cuba this August 10. Holplast is an entity specialized in the manufacture of accessories for water conduction throughout the country and managed to enter in 2018 about 30 million pesos in terms of import substitution, explained Manuel Alejandro Otamendy, financial accounting director.
The Holguín polyethylene pipe factory holds a monthly production record of more than 820 tons and an annual maximum of eight thousand, productions that benefit hydraulic installations in different sectors of society, he said.
The executive emphasized that in the previous period they made a series of investments in benefit of the workers, which provoked a greater stability of the labor force, decreased the time of confection and increased the productive capacity.
More than 60 percent of the workers, belonging to all areas of the company, participate in the innovation forums, an aspect that generates better economic indicators, he emphasized.
Otamendy also assured that Holplast has a laboratory in which they can carry out high quality tests in order to accredit their products for export in the near future.
This company is accredited by the Integrated System of Business Management by the ISO 9001 Standard of 2015 that includes quality management systems, safety at work and environmental protection, he said. Every August 10 is celebrated in Cuba the Day of the Hydraulic Worker, due to the creation of the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources that day of 1962. /Radio Angulo
