Holguin Bank Guarantees Cash for Salary Increase

The Holguin branch of Banco Popular de Ahorro (BPA) prepares the conditions in order to guarantee in Holguin the more than 182 million pesos they will need during the second half of 2019 in correspondence with the salary increase in the Cuban budgeted sector.
Rubinelson Zaldivar, general director of the BPA in the eastern province, told the local press that this represents a monthly increase of 30.5 million pesos, which will benefit around 100 thousand workers from different entities of the territory.
He explained that in order to know the approximate demand, they carried out a survey of the cash needs that budgeted units usually extract and evaluated the assigned increases. They also took into account the almost 50 thousand pensioners residing in Holguin, who embraced the new provisions.
Zaldivar added that, as part of the actions with a view to the implementation of the salary changes they will enable the ATMs and the bank vaults all the necessary times in the day to prevent the lack of money.
