Crafts Fair "Arte para Papá" to Open in Holguín

Authentic Cuban crafts will distinguish in Holguín the first edition of the Crafts Fair Arte para Papá, organized by the subsidiary of the Cuban Fund of Cultural Assets (FCBC) in this city on the occasion of Father's Day, which is celebrated each year on the third Sunday of July.
The commercial exhibit will open from June 7 to15, said Yamile Escalona Arias, communication specialist of that entity, noting that the event is an opportunity for the promotion of creators and products designed especially for men.
The Fair includes ceramics, jewelry, glass, textiles, wax, as well as costume jewelry and footwear, in addition to attractive proposals by the Provincial Book Center and the Company of Artistic and Literary Promotions of Cuba Artex SA, Escalona said.
About 50 exhibitors from seven Cuban provinces will participate in the event, including Santiago de Cuba, Havana, Granma and Villa Clara, whose exhibitions for sale to the public will take place at the Expo- Holguín fairgrounds and in other areas of this eastern city.
The program also includes expo sale of plastic arts items, male fashion shows, exhibitions, contests, as well as recognitions to artists and outstanding parents of the FCBC and other institutions of the also known as the Cuban city of the parks, added the specialist.
The Holguín branch of the FCBC is recognized nationally for its results and contribution to national culture, which also have among its social objects, the promotion of other commercial events such as the Ibero-American Crafts Fair, inserted in the agenda of the Ibero-American Culture Festival, which gathers here artisans from different regions of the world. / ACN
