Díaz-Canel Assessed Extensive Development Projects in Holguín

DC 04Photo: ACNMiguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, president of the Councils of State and Ministers assessed the progress of the economic programs in priority sectors of Holguín after visiting various entities in this territory as part of his ministerial visit to this eastern Cuban province.
 
Accompanied by several ministers, the Cuban leader concluded today his visit to this province, the third with the largest population of Cuba with more than one million inhabitants, which is distinguished by its potential in key sectors of the national economy, such as nickel, tourism, agriculture and electricity generation, in addition to a wide network of educational centers, health, culture and recreation.

Díaz-Canel started the agenda of meetings with workers and managers of companies, at the factory of sugarcane harvesting machines 60 aniversario de la Revolución de Octubre and the Factory for Agricultural Equipments Héroes del 26 de Julio, located in the industrial area of the head city, entities of notable contributions to the country's agriculture programs.

He also acknowledged the potential of other branches of the province, such as the Dairy Products Company and Frutas Selectas Company among the facilities of the food sector, where he was informed about the production processes and investments for improvement of its main economic and productive indicators.

During his tour of the city of Holguín, Díaz-Canel also held a meeting with students and professors from the Oscar Lucero Moya University and concluded the agenda on Wednesday with a visit to the mining-metallurgical town of Moa, where he knew about the progress of the nickel program and the performance of its main economic indicators.
