The town of Sabanilla, located in the Popular Council of Biran, in the Holguin municipality of Cueto, was the headquarters of the National Camping on the occasion of the 57th Anniversary of the Union of Young Communists (UJC) and 58 of the Jose Marti Pioneers Organization (OPJM), to be celebrated this April 4 across the country.
Nearly three thousand young people from several municipalities of the province participated in the evening event in the midst of an atmosphere of joy and exchange, favored by the pleasant climate of the place and its vegetation, explained Yanelis Rodriguez Paneque, first secretary of the Provincial Committee of the UJC in Holguin.
The event was led by members of the Jose Mari Brigade and included sports meetings with workers of the National Institute of Sports and Recreation (INDER).
Recognition was given to outstanding leaders in their career within the youth vanguard of the province, who shared with former leaders of the organization.
The Camping was part of a broad plan of activities designed to commemorate the founding of the UJC and the organization of pioneers, which also includes film screening, visits to intricate communities, fairs and collection of raw materials, among others.
In the early hours of this Thursday, the historic site of Biran, emblematic place for the history of Cuba as the birthplace of Fidel and Raul Castro, is the setting for the National Meeting for the anniversary of Cuban youth and a special space for the presentation of the call to the 11th Congress of the organization, to be held in April 2020.
