Diversifying the tourist and artistic proposals, the creation of new projects and cultural routes and strengthening the alliances with other countries, are among the main themes of the Culture-Tourism agreement in the province of Holguín.

At a meeting chaired by Eddy Santos González, delegate of the Ministry of Tourism in the province, were established the lines of work and joint projects to boost tourism products in correspondence with local artistic talent once the health situation caused by Covid-19 ceases.

The issues addressed included the commercialization of products and services of high cultural and patrimonial values that reflect the local and national identity, with the participation of the Cuban Fund of Cultural Assets and the Cuban Association of Artisan Artists, as well as the preparation, promotion and marketing of local souvenirs.

It was also agreed to extend the shows programmed in the tourist facilities, under the direction of the artistic staff endorsed by the Cuban Institute of Music and the National Council of Performing Arts.

New projects for foreign clients were presented in the meeting, among them “El patio de los artistas " and the "Cubaneando" Cultural Fair, which aims to achieve a different recreational offer in the Guardalavaca destination's programming, which will link the artistic expressions of Cuba and the Caribbean region.

In addition, animation and recreation actions were agreed for the Iberostar Selection Almirante hotel, which will offer a well-structured program that includes all areas of the facility; as well as the route of Loma de la Cruz, one of the most attractive, as this is one of the main symbols of the city of Holguín.

On the other hand, it was proposed to carry out exchanges and alliances with other countries to extend the experience of cultural events in the territory, such as popular festivals, to establish links between Holguín and Caribbean regions such as Trinidad and Tobago.

This Agreement will allow developing important projects that include, among other places, the Plaza de la Marqueta Cultural Center, the Colonial Theater of Gibara, the Saratoga Hotel in the head city, the Papyrus Notebooks Manufactured Paper Workshop, the art galleries of Holguín and the system of squares and parks of this eastern city.
