The Ediciones La Luz publishing house, belonging to the Hermanos Saiz Association in Holguin, has won the 2019 Puertas de Papel Award for the selection of stories Mar de invierno y otros delirios (Winter Sea and other delusions), by writer Alberto Garrandes, during the International Book Fair taking place in Havana.

The ministry of culture, the Cuban institute of cinema art and industry (ICAIC), the government of Holguin and the government of Gibara have called for participation in the 16th Gibara International Film Festival (FIC Gibara 2020), to be held on July 5-11 in this eastern Cuban city.
