With the participation of some 47 exhibitors from various Cuban provinces, including Havana, Las Tunas, Pinar del Río and Guantánamo, the National Crafts Fair will take place in the city of Holguín from December 4 to 13, organized by the subsidiary of the Cuban Fund of Cultural Assets (FCBC) in the eastern territory.
The Fair, based at the ExpoHolguín fairgrounds, will exhibit textile, footwear, goldsmithing, leather, fiber, ceramic and glass products, among others, said Manuel Hernández, provincial director of the organizing entity of the event.
Held in salute to the 62nd anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution and the 42nd anniversary of the founding of the FCBC, the fair will also hold business rounds and exhibitions of visual arts.
Given the epidemiological situation caused by COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no opening or closing gala of the Fair; therefore, an extensive protocol of measures will be carried out with various biosafety standards to avoid contagion, Hernández added.
He noted among these actions the sanitary filter to be located at the entrance of the fairgrounds, open from 10 am to 5 pm, with a 0.1% sodium hypochlorite solution, in addition to the mandatory use of the face mask, limiting the access of people to avoid the mass of people and maintain social distancing.
Two hypochlorite filters will also be placed at each point of sale to decontaminate the premises, in addition to conducting the active research of workers and visitors.
The National Crafts Fair is included among the commercial events of the Cultural Fund of Cultural Assets in Holguín, such as Arte para Mamá, Arte para Papá and the International Fair Iberoarte, one of the most important in the country, which this year could not be held because of the epidemiological situation due to COVID-19.
