The painting exhibition "Amasijos" by Carlos Alberto Walker Delis opened this Friday at the Electa Arenal Gallery of the Holguín Provincial Center for Visual Arts.

It brings together multiple realities, where abstract, dynamic figures with dense and mysterious textures can be appreciated.

According to Dr. Ana Cristina Castro Fuentes, Walker has developed his own pictorial language based on the application of layers of paint, where light emerges from chromatic thicknesses and where drawing manifests itself through lines that traverse the surface like living forces.

The exhibition, composed of 29 pieces, combines the real and the imaginary and invites the viewer to observe the world from the artist's perspective. It includes pices such as "Eva," "Isla madre," "Mi hombro izquierdo," "Pie y cruz," "El costo de la resistencia," and "Como me mantengo."

The exhibit opened with the performance of the Holguín-based company Codanza, directed by choreographer Vianki González. This proposal, born from the interest of curator Elisabet Betancourt Macle and under the general direction of Yuricel Moreno, suggests a path to understanding one's own creation as an act of resistance, purification, love and beauty.

Carlos Walker, designer and visual artist from Santiago de Cuba, has an extensive professional career dating back to 1989, with solo and group exhibitions both nationally and internationally. He has also received numerous awards and distinctions, such as the honorable mention at the First American Painting Encounter in Mexico.
