Egrem Holguín will celebrate its 60th anniversary

The Music Recordings and Editions Company (Egrem) in Holguín will celebrate its 60th anniversary on March 31 with a new program of activities focused on local musicians.
At a press conference held on Wednesday, Carlos Lam Mora, director of the Egrem Holguín business unit (UEB), explained that the activities are part of the national festivities and will take place throughout the year 2024.
He highlighted the presence of the record company in radio and television programs in order to promote its work, as well as in wide-ranging events such as Romerías de Mayo, the Ibero-American Culture Festival and the Son Music Groups Festival, in the municipality of Mayarí.
Likewise, he announced the intention to gain prominence in the summer season through cultural-commercial fairs and activities in beach areas, as well as to boost alliances with non-state forms of management.
In its more than 20 years of created, the record company of the City of Parks has promoted the talent of artists such as Faustino Oramas “El Guayabero” and renowned groups such as the Avilés Brothers orchestra, among others.
Egrem is the longest-running Cuban record label. It deals with the recording, representation, editing and marketing of musicians' work, as well as the administration of cultural centers. In this way, since 1964 it has contributed to promote the musical legacy of the Island.
