Holguín awards Personality of the Year 2023

The political and cultural gala to award personalities from different sectors of the province of Holguín, took place on Thursday at the Expo-Holguín fairgrounds, as part of the activities for the celebration of the 65th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution.
A total of 66 workers with an outstanding work in areas of health, education, sports, services and internationalism, among others, received the recognition that accredits them as Personality of the Year 2023. 
The ceremony was chaired by Ernesto Santiesteban Velázquez, member of the Central Committee and first secretary of the Party in the province; Manuel Francisco Hernández Aguilera, governor of Holguín; Luis Clodobaldo Velázquez Pérez, deputy to the National Assembly and president of the Cuban Academy of Sciences; and other authorities.
Alexis del Toro Hidalgo, photojournalist for the¡ahora! Local newspaper; Xiomara Garzón Montes de Oca, editor and proofreader at the university publishing house Conciencias Ediciones; Aroldo García Fombellida, journalist from Radio Rebelde; Iris Bonillo Almarales, program director at Tele Cristal, are among the Personalities of the Year awarded.
