This initiative is mainly carried out in the mining-metallurgical municipality of Moa, about 100 kilometers from the provincial capital, where theoretical events, posters and presentations on the importance of ecosystems preservation are also carried out.
Melaneo Maden, coordinator of Ecoarte, told the ACN news agency that the reforestation includes the transfer of mangrove seedlings to areas where adult mangrove plants predominate, which helps to guarantee the regeneration of these varieties.

He stressed that mangrove forests protect the coast from erosion, loss of soils and the effects of meteorological phenomena, including hurricanes of great intensity, so that their conservation is a priority within the Life Task, plan of the Cuban state to reduce the effects of climate change on the Caribbean island.
