In meeting chaired by Yuri Viamonte, deputy minister of the branch, the different entities of the territory accounted for the main actions in 2017, the undergoing production processes of their industries and actions implemented to confront crime and illegalities.
Viamonte explained that any crime related to diesel theft is considered sabotage with deprivation of liberty penalties of 18 to 25 years.

One of the projects valued there, and with a budget ready for execution, is the replacement of electric lines known as "tendederas" for photovoltaic panels with the purpose of taking electricity service to isolated houses in the mountainous region.
Viamonte pointed out that the province of Holguín has significant challenges in terms of renewable energy with the use, on the north coast, of strong winds that generate electricity through wind farms.
“Another challenge of the territory is the optimization of resources in order to improve the proposed plans," he said.
