Holguin, General Customs of the Republic Marks Anniversary

Photos: ACNThe General Customs Office of the Republic of Cuba (AGRC) in Holguin celebrated its 55th anniversary with an increase in detections related to the country's security, such as drug smuggling or people who tried to circumvent control, and confrontation with the political-ideological subversion. 
In 2017, this agency achieved effectiveness in the dispatch of shipments and commercial charges through ports and airports and in the service to more than 350,000 passengers who arrived in Holguin through the Frank País International Airport.The Customs office in Holguin also achieved good results in defense, security and protection, which made it worthy of the status of Ready for Defense, after a control visit of the AGRC.
In meeting for the date, Ramón Rafael Pifferrer Martínez, head of the Customs of Holguín, highlighted the work of the men and women that make up this protective force of Cuban borders, while analyzing weaknesses and outlined guidelines to follow to raise this year’s efficiency.
