Holguín Beekeepers Produced over 540 tons of Honey in 2018

Holguín beekeepers produced more than 540 tons of honey in 2018, the highest figure reached in the province in the last 27 years.
The Apicultural Business Unit of the territory expect to contribute in 2019 productions of wax and red propolis as new exportable offers, as part of the economic policy being carried out in the country.
The ecological honeys represent a considerable figure within the deliveries made by the province, since they exceed 70 percent of what is produced in this line of the economy, which plans to continue growing in production and efficiency in the current year 2019.
The Apicultural Business Unit reported that the municipalities of Mayarí and Cueto collect about 30 percent of the honey produced in the territory, where work is done to increase the number of hives, to obtain quality queen bees, and other requirements that promote productive growth, as part of the commitment of the beekeepers in matter of honey, wax, propolis and real jelly. / Radio Angulo
