Holguín Gives Priority to Local Development Projects

The implementation of development projects through the use of local resources and financial means, were among the priorities in matters of economy in the province of Holguín in the current year.
Idania Ricardo, vice president of the Provincial Assembly of People's Power, said that for the contributions offered in the territorial scope, these programs will continue to be promoted in 2019.
She added that the province of Holguín currently has about 56 development programs, most of which are concentrated in the areas of gastronomic services , culture and recreation sector.
The projections for 2019 in this activity will be directed mainly to productive tasks as ways that contribute to improving the levels of efficiencies in specific branches of the production of consumer goods destined for the population, Ricardo said.
She explained that in this area they are evaluating the potential of the province to increase the number of mini-industries in the agricultural sector from the various food items that are grown and harvested in the bulk of the 14 municipalities of Holguín.
With this decision, the province will be able to give a better and more efficient use to existing means and resources in each territory, especially in the productive branches and food production.
It will also work on the construction and improvement of infrastructures, in the activities of services in general, including public health and education, among others.
The local development projects, she said, are components of the investment programs and the province's strategy, about which municipal governments are preparing themselves on how to better use the different funding sources according to economic priorities and of the services in each territory.
