To work on the establishment of telephone communication in the mountainous communities with less than 200 inhabitants of the Turquino Plan of Holguín, stands out among the projections of the Telecommunications Company of Cuba (ETECSA) in the northeastern province for 2019.
Speaking to the ACN, Héctor Javier Santos, head of the Department of Development and Operations of the Network in the Holguín company, explained that it is hoped to install at least one public service in those more remote population settlements in the mountainous areas of the territory.
Telephone communication shortens the distances and facilitates negotiations and the solution of problems, said the director, referring to the installation of this service in isolated places of the province, such as those areas of the Turquino Plan.
Santos added thet the next year’s plan includes the installation of the service in 20 of the 33 doctors offices that lack state phones in the mountains of Holguín, modernize the radio link between Cueto and Guamuta in that municipality, which will enable the opening of public sites of wireless connection (WiFi), and improve the television signal in Sojo Represa and La Melba, in Moa territories.
The work carried out by ETECSA in the Holguín mountains during 2018 focused on eradicating the gaps that, in terms of telephone communication, existed in communities with more than 200 inhabitants, and installing a radio base and optimizing television broadcasting in the mountains of Alcarraza, in Sagua de Tánamo.
The Holguín Turquino Plan, which includes the municipalities of Moa, Sagua de Tánamo, Frank País, Mayarí and Cueto, has evolved considerably in line with the development of other areas in the province, both rural and urban, benefiting from fixed and mobile telephony investments and Internet. / ACN
