Ramiro Valdés Checks Economic Development Programs in Holguín

The Commander of the Revolution Ramiro Valdés Menéndez, member of the Political Bureau and vice president of the Councils of State and Ministers, checked today in the city of Holguín various economic development programs of the eastern territory.
Valdés Menéndez toured the factory of sugarcane harvesters KTP and the Héroes 26 de Julio factory, where he learned about the production of machinery and accessories for the programs of agricultural and sugar development.
In meeting with workers of both entities, Valdés Menéndez highlighted the need to incorporate innovative ideas, taking into account the resources of the country to achieve the resistance and sovereignty of the national industry, so as to reduce dependence on the outside.
The Commander of the Revolution was interested in details of each machine’s performance, capacity, useful life and stressed that the quality should prevail from the design and adapt to the climatic conditions of each territory within the country.
He also met with the different agencies to assess indications regarding the confrontation of current problems, both constructive and material resources to promote housing programs in the province.
In each of the places visited, Valdés Menéndez explained the fundamental lines and work objectives that must be addressed in order to comply with what is established within local development projects.
During his visit, Valdés Menéndez was accompanied by Ernesto Santiesteban Velázquez, first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba in Holguín, Vivian Rodríguez Salazar, General Director of Housing and Eloy Álvarez Martínez, First Deputy Minister of Industries, among other officials. / ACN
