By the end of 2018 about 128,000 people in the province of Holguín will have enjoyed the facilities of Campismo Popular, a natural tourism modality with more than three decades of presence in Cuba as an affordable alternative for the Cuban family.
Villa Cromita, Río Cabonico, the Náutico-Vaquero complex, Silla de Gibara and Playa Blanca are the five facilities in which throughout the year Holguín vacationers enjoy direct contact with nature and lodging services in the 143 existing rooms for this tourist offer that little by little improves its comfort and image without losing its harmonious integration with the environment.
Since 2010 the Campismo Popular Company has been subordinated to the Ministry of Tourism, which has facilitated a gradual investment process for the improvement of the hotel infrastructure, mainly in Playa Blanca.
The training of the services staff, the renovation of sports areas, game rooms, dance floors, the recovering of traditional horseback riding, and increase the excursions and hiking offers, directed towards sites of great ecological wealth, are pending issues in the work agenda of Campismo Popular Company in Holguín.
According to surveys by the CUBAMAR agency, 96 percent of clients are currently satisfied with this recreational modality.
