5th National Forum of Urbanism Begins in Holguín

The 5th National Forum of Integral Urbanism begins today in the city of Holguín with the aim to gather methods and good practices in pursuit of the development of cities.
About 50 guests from several Cuban provinces gathered here to debate the progressive implementation of Ciudades Parque (Park Cities) network in the country, said Oscar Bellido, coordinator of the Holguín Strategic Plan, first capital city included in that project.
He also stressed that the main topics to be presented in the debates will be related to environmental sanitation, legal aspects of urban planning, heritage management, management of historic centers and the reduction, reuse and recycling of urban waste, among others.
The meeting will run until Saturday 24 and includes debates, workshops and lectures at the headquarters of the National Union of Architects and Construction Engineers of Cuba in the eastern city.
Bellido said that the event is based on the results shown by Holguín in the Ciudad Parque de Cuba project, implemented since 2015.
