In the heat of the achievements of the Turquino Plan, actions linked to the protection of flora, fauna, water and soils were consolidated, essential requirements to ensure sustainable development, in accordance with the criteria of specialists consulted on the subject.
 
PLan Turquino 2The production of coffee, cocoa, fruit, banana, milk, pork and sawn wood, behaved above the estimates for the year, which had a positive impact on agricultural and forestry production in terms of self-sufficiency of most settlements population, and in that sense it is expected to advance much more.
 
A necessary complement undoubtedly constitutes the services of education, health, sports, culture, work and social security, sectors that registered advances in their integral management and in fact became the benefit of the peasants.

Holguin has five of its 14 municipalities incorporated into the Turquino Plan, which are: Moa, Sagua de Tánamo, "Frank País", Mayarí and Cueto, all of whom receive the benefits of this program of the Revolution, conceived to achieve sustainable development of the mountainous areas.
