Iberostar Bets on Guardalavaca

The construction of the Hotel Albatros, in Guardalavaca resort, is one of the most important projects carried out in Cuba by the hotel chain Iberostar Hotels & Resorts.
Engineer Yuniesky Escalona Bergantiño, an investor of the Real Estate Tourism Company in Holguín province, said that the construction project aims at achieving integration between the buildings and their surroundings, while providing comfort suitable for international tourism.
Once finished, it will have 515 rooms (442 standards, 64 mini suites, 5 suites and 4 handicapped) and 5 stars plus category.
According to the investor, who already has the restoration of the Ordoño hotel in Gibara, the Albatros will be an all-inclusive hotel, which will be managed by the Iberostar and Cubanacán hotel chains, with a premium product brand.
This hotel will have a main building, children's club, beach ranch and snack bar, aquarium, main entrance booth, beach bar, nautical point, sports club and car rental.
It also includes outdoor areas with an activity pool, a relaxing pool, a royal swimming pool, a children's play area with a water park, an outdoor SPA area and sports courts, among others.
Escalona Bergantiño said that the implementation of this investment project in Guardalavaca has been possible due to the accelerated process of development of hotel infrastructure, extra hotel, support and technical networks, together with an adequate level of accessibility.
Iberostar Hotels & Resorts recently announced the opening of a new hotel in Cuba on November 15. The Iberostar Holguín hotel joins the more than 20 facilities managed by the hotel chain in the country, which this year celebrates its 25 anniversary in the Cuban market.
This facility is located in Playa Pesquero, in the municipality of Rafael Freyre, northeast of the island, 17 kilometers from the tourist resort of Guardalavaca and 45 kilometers from the city of Holguín. It has 12 different buildings, with 638 rooms of different categories, six restaurants, four swimming pools and a tropical garden. It also includes the exclusive service for adults "Star Prestige", according to a statement issued by the hotel chain.
