The short cycle program is an option created in Cuba to guarantee the continuity of study of high school graduates and the careers offered in this program will only last two years with a connotation superior to that of Middle Technician, Pérez explained.

This program has its most immediate antecedent in the plan for the improvement of teachers of the Secondary Education, conceived by the Ministry of Higher Education to reverse the deficit of teachers in the country.
