The Pioneer Elections in Holguín are a key democratic process for the José Martí Pioneer Organization (OPJM), where boys and girls from educational centers choose their representatives.
These elections represent one of the most important processes carried out by the Organization, as part of the education in democratic principles provided to the new generations, and helps form future citizens committed to the Revolution and patriotic values promoted by the OPJM.
The process is carried out through general assemblies, where the pioneers vote directly and publicly in primary school, and secretly in secondary school, promoting values such as good behavior, responsibility, and commitment to study and society, among others.
The OPJM, created in 1961, brings together Cuban children and adolescents with the goal of educating them an interest in studying, a love for their homeland, and the peoples of the world.
