Science, Technology and Industry Park inaugurated in Holguín

With the aim of boosting innovation and economic development, the Holguín Science and Technology Park was officially inaugurated. This Project, long awaited by the people of Holguín, marks a cultural shift toward science and technology in the region.

The inauguration was attended by Manuel Marrero Cruz, Prime Minister of the Republic of Cuba; Joel Queipo Ruiz, First Secretary of the Cuban Communist Party in the province; Reynaldo Velázquez Zaldívar, Deputy Minister of Higher Education; Manuel Hernández Aguilera, Governor of the province; among other leading figures of science in the territory.

It is the fourth park of its kind in Cuba and will serve as a space where the public and private sectors, innovators, academics, and entrepreneurs can transform ideas into concrete solutions for the benefit of the community.

Dr. Carlos Rafael Batista Matamoros, president of the park, said that this center seeks to be a platform for innovators, a place where ideas are transformed into tangible solutions. "It aims to become a mechanism for technological development, integrating all social actors".

The park will leverage the potential of the three local universities and collaborate with other institutions, focusing on nine strategic areas such as Tourism, Information Technology, and Biotechnology

This initiative establishes Holguín as a hub of innovation and reflects a commitment to development based on knowledge.
