Journalists delegation to attend XI Upec Congress departs from Holguín

The Holguín delegation that will attend the XI Congress of the Union of Journalists of Cuba (Upec), to be held on November 2 and 3 at the Havana Convention Palace, was flagged this Monday at Casa de la Prensa with the presence of the highest political and government authorities of the province.
The delegation from the northeastern region is made up of 10 journalists from the municipalities of Holguín, Mayarí and Moa.
As part of their prior preparation for the meeting, the delegates met here to debate on the topics to be addressed in the three commissions planned: Cuban press, a networked society; Professional improvement and journalists training, and The organization desired in the 21st century.
The agenda includes the peresentation of the action plan for the 2023-2028 five-year period , composed of three main axes: New model of public press for Cuban socialism, New communication culture for our socialism and the Upec of the 21st century.
For the new stage of work, the delegation of the Union of Cuban Journalists in Holguín has proposed to resume the “Irma Armas Fonseca” Press Festival, an event that will be conducive to dialogue about the reality being built from the work of the young and more experienced reporters from this eastern region.
