Preserving the avant-garde art spaces, consolidating criticism as an opinion tool in different media, and the promotion of young creators in different platforms are some of the challenges faced by the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS) in Holguín.

During the Provincial Assembly of the organization held this Thursday in this eastern city, the associates presented their concerns, needs and proposals, in addition to reviewing the work carried out in the 2022-2023 period, with a view to the IV Congress of the AHS, to take place next October in Havana.

With a sustained program throughout the year, the Holguín AHS stands out for organizing events such as the Romerías de Mayo, the World Festival of Artistic Youths and the main event of the Association that brought together hundreds of young people at this stage to exalt the most genuine contemporary creation and cultural promotion.

It also stood out the work carried out by Ediciones La Luz publishing house, belonging to the AHS in the province, which published various titles at this stage.

Participants addressed the need of expanding the visibility of the associates in different spaces and cultural projects in the city, as well as in the media and digital platforms, with special emphasis on local television and the communication channels of the Association.

Rafael González Muñoz, president of the Association in the country, pointed out the importance of seeking and going to all the creative zones, strengthening the commitments of the affiliates with the AHS, and also supporting the artistic work in each cell of the organization, to strengthen the bond with the members and their work.

Ernesto Santiesteban Velázquez, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and first secretary in the province, Yunia Pérez Hernández, vice governor of Holguín; Rachel García Heredia, director of the Culture Sector in the territory, among other officials, participated in the meeting.
