A nine-volume collection of the political and military thought of revolutionary leader Raúl Castro Ruz was presented in the city of Holguín, as part of the celebration of the Army General's 95th birthday.

The volumes of Selected Works were presented for the first time outside Havana, in the Plaza de la Revolución Mayor General Calixto García in this eastern city, before an audience of leaders, intellectuals, and workers.

Jorge Luis Aneiros Alonso, director of the Office of Historical Affairs of the Council of State, explained that the compendium includes a selection from various authors, focusing on crucial moments in Cuban history and covering his trajectory from 1951 to 2024.

He explained that the initial text includes his earliest known writings, such as the article "Cubans in Korea" (1951), as well as correspondence with his parents, memoirs of his imprisonment and exile, and diaries from the insurrectionary period.

Aneiros Alonso said that the historical assessments of the leader, included in the presentation, earned him the National History Prize in 2021, highlighting the volumes on the Sierra Maestra and the Second Front.

For his part, the president of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) in the province, Eliel Gómez, emphasized the importance of defending these texts against the cultural and political war that threatens national sovereignty.

In this regard, he argued that the response to current threats lies in reclaiming the nation's memory and the dignity of its heroes, recurring themes in the historical leader's life.

The presentation of the literary and historical work was attended by the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba in Holguín, Joel Queipo Ruíz, and the governor of the province, Manuel Francisco Hernández Aguilera. (Source: Prensa Latina)
