The University of Holguín (UHo), recognized as an institution of Excellence in Cuba, has strengthened its international ties with universities in countries such as Mexico, Colombia, Spain, Ecuador, Brazil, and Romania, contributing to its academic and research prestige.
According to the Director of International Relations, Jenny Ruiz de la Peña, the university maintains more than 230 agreements with institutions and research centers worldwide, enhancing the education of students and faculty while increasing its social impact.

UHo collaborates with prominent universities such as the University of Málaga (Spain), Nicolaus Copernicus University (Poland), and the University of Management in Varna (Bulgaria), and actively participates in international academic networks like the Ibero-American Association of Postgraduate Universities and the La Rábida Group.
It also promotes mobility projects, including ten linked to the Erasmus+ program, and develops initiatives such as service export, research stays, and academic events. These efforts encourage cultural exchange and prepare students to face a globalized labor market.
