Gibara Mourns Victims of Plane Crash

There is a lot of pain in Gibara on these days. On May 20, the first remains of the plane crash victims arrived to the town, the young art instructor Suyen Figueredo Driggs, 29 years old, and her 7 years old daughter, Alexa Rivas Figueredo.
Residents in the coastal town went to the Municipal Culture Center to accompany the families in the midst of pain, to express their condolences and to transmit encouragement. Candles, floral offerings on behalf of the people of Gibara and Cuba set the place prepared by the highest authorities of the Government and the party in the territory. On May 21, the remains of third deceased Enrique Martínez Nates, 42, arrived in Gibara.
With moving words, a representation of the people of Gibara said good bye to the plane crash victims and accompanied the families on their pilgrimage to their homes. To date, family members await the arrival of the remains of Yailenis Navarro Díaz, Enrique's wife, who has not been identified yet.
In Gibara there were seven people who lost their lives, including 3 from the town of Velasco, Lirice Cruz Pérez, 24 years old, Jorge Luis Guerra Domínguez and Eddy Antonio Rodríguez Hernández.
